One of the few brands in India that have good parts availibility.
Excellent company to work for, they keep giving each other bonuses and incentives at he cost of cutomer's pains.
Cheap laptops.
eople who have taken their service recently in India are saying that the service has greataly improved.
Few people in the recent years have said that the service is good. P

Neutral-Good
Neutral-Doesn't matter
The thing is, by the time you need service(usually afte 1 year), you realize that you got the laptop from a place that didn't have extra warrnaty or ADP so you're stuck with third party shops anyhow so we can't really comment on their service as most people didn't aactually get it. Terrible serivce from brand. Some of the absolute worst experiences as a customer of HP, the only one worse than this is Acer.
Neutral-Bad
Some of the worst design choices like putting wifi card just next to heat pipes or even after having a space for a full size SSD not bothering to make sure the laptop can accept the larger cheaper SSD.
Also trying to justify bad design choices like a large chin on the lapotp is so that you dont' have to move your neck a lot down and it avoids you neck pain.
On the above point, if the CEO thinks the customer is stupid, imagine what will the support people think.
Even in permium Omen series, they use all plastic all over
Apart from a few decent machiens most of it's machiens starts to fall apart quickly. HP=Hinge Problem. Keyboards fall apart, display comes out of the body and countless other issues so much that you will have a flourishing relationship with the repair people.
Cons
Very expensive ADP of three years and to use that you have to get the laptop directly from them which isn't as discounted as amazon/flipkart.
Multiple instances of hardware issues on their laptops.
They do not recall models inherent design flaws or even support customers whose laptop had issues due to manufacturing flaws/defect if they are out of warranty.

ADP or Accidental Damage Protection
If you're in India, companies like to weasel their way out of giving you warranty by claiming everything to be user's fault and making sure a lot of things aren't actually covered in warranty for free but are payable. More details on what ADP is, why it's important, why HP's own ADP, why not third party ADP, why not just extended warranty is all covered in this video itself.
Spare Parts Availability: HP, atleast is good in the part that it belongs to the three brands(Dell, HP & Lenovo) that actually have decent spare parts availability in most places in India.
Check if ADP is available
Video for the same:
As of writing this video, you can check HP's extra warranty by visiting redeemnow.in and clicking the first left offer, scrolling down and clicking on Offer Terms and Conditions. Also there is a helpline number to assist with anything there. If you have any queries about these, ask them, not me. Here as you can see there is the three years ADP offer for Omen laptops for Rs.6000.
Also, you will see the terms and conditions. Go through them all but the main thing is in the first line where it clearly mentions on where this ADP is applicable if you do decide to buy it. As of writing this blog, you can clearly see it's available if you buy from HP (As of April 2024, it has been removed even from Amazon so I only recommend HP if you buy it directly from them(A place they allow ADP)).
Also, make sure you are buying the laptop in the offer period.
Make sure it's applicable on your model.
Student Discount on HP's own site
Just wanted to show the differnce if you get your student ID verified on HP's site.
