Summary
- Monitor does the jobs it sets out for. Even though you will need Display Port to get the 240Hz, it's still pretty great!
- Even though UHD/4k monitors with 60Hz exist at this screen size of 27" and this price point, I won't recommend them for a monitor whose main purpose is work.
- Discounts are very common with this model atleast in UK.
I feel if I make a video on it, it will hardly be a few minutes but if you still want a video, do let me know.
Cautions
- Selling Price online is close to the MRP so it's better to check offline first as you can pick a good IPS unit with low backlight bleed and dead/bright pixel.
- HDMI isn't 2.1 proper but the fake 2.1 which is basically HDMI 2.0. It only supports 18Gbps or 1440p@144Hz and not the full 240Hz over HDMI. Also lacks VRR. This is very important if you primarily intend to use the HDMI port on it like in a gaming console.
- Expect IPS issues like backlight bleed and the chance of dead/bright pixels as per their policy
- DO NOT REMOVE THE PROTECTIVE LAYER OFF THE DISPLAY. IT WILL DAMAGE THE DISPLAY PERMANENTLY.
- Ergonomically, a curve screen will be better especially if you wear progressive lens glasses.
Pros/Cons
Pros
- Smooth Motion and low response time makes it great for high FPS games.
- Well built monitor and sturdy stand
- Good color accuracy for most users and content creator. Professionals will go with better DCI-P3 or AdobeRGB color accuracy.
Neutral
Neutral-Good- Supports VESA 100x100mm so you can install your own wall mount or a heavier stand
- Kensington Security Slot so you can lock the monitor against easy theft
- Unlike Apple, Stand is included with the monitor
- 1 DP1.4 Cable is included
- Thin Side Bezels
- Lenovo provides Avg. Delta E <2 report with the monitor for those who want color accurate displays
- 3-year warranty is default in all brands but this being Lenovo it's easier to find service centres(I have not yet experienced the monitor service for Lenovo so this needs updating).
- At a decent way away, expect 125% resolution scaling to be easy on the eyes.
- No crosshair mode for kids who cheat in games
- No HDMI Cable is included
- Wall or Ceiling Mount can only allow swivel of upto 5 degrees only.
- No Speakers
- Turning the monitor 90 degrees takes some effort
Cons
Monitor setting buttons are terrible to use(Turning off Button repeat mode in settings fixes it somewhat)- Not perfectly color accurate screen so it's not for designers.
- HDMI isn't actually 2.1 but 2.0 so only 1440p144Hz non-VRR output from HDMI.
- Not compatible with PS5 VRR
- To investigate→ Monitor emits faily loud whistle
