Looking back on my life and especially the years given to this youtube channel, the gremlins(irritating part of me) do say:

1) "Why did you go YouTube full-time?" and the more important:
2) "Why didn't you see the future of PC market crashing? You did see AI improving"

Note: I really don't want to do a video right now. Most days I just stay silent and keep working and struggling to get a job so I am afraid I might get side-tracked, so this little blog will have to do.

I genuinely didn't see the PC market crash coming, otherwise, I would have never left the corporate world. I was a backend developer, I could have kept doing that and by this time would have been making a lot of money with a well settled life.

The reason I dropped that was because I genuinely loved making tech content, I really did, even if sometimes I sounded cynical and mainly the guy who stops you buying stuff, it was all coming from a place of avoiding a lot of frustration down the road for literally anyone.

Yes, there was always a risk with YouTube but I had worked years for making those systems work in place and with my recent LOQ purchase decision video it was clear both with the views and with the revenue that it was genuinely working, and I kept at it.

Sadly, this was also the point where the truth about illegal extension and coupons websites came forward whose only job was to steal the affiliate money and it always hurts the smaller creators first as Steve pointed out.

Illegal Extension and Coupon Sites that steal extension along with no ethics in companies like Google and more where they allow every scam to run free in the name of "promotion" meant the internet was filled with scummy illegal apps, websites and extensions that steal the little money small creators rely on, and they kept doing it for years!

With AI making scams easier, this exploded along with the rise in AI.

This remains the number 1 reason that my channel slowly stopped generating revenue at all.

And that was a huge blow spanned out over months. I kept working trying to figure out before and after this exposure as to what was wrong and how to circumvent it but the sad fact was the affiliate companies have a clear clause which prohibits incentivise clicks, so, if I did it, my account would be closed. Whereas others kept doing it with probably fake identities.

Note: Sometimes I wondered if I should also just drop everything and do the same but my ethics stops me all the time. Because if I go against them, I will lose who I am.

Now, however, we come to the second more important thing: Why didn't I foresee PC market crash months/years in advance

Before I go ahead let me do this little fiction thing if I had seen because I keep replaying it in my mind all the time.

If I had seen the PC Market Crash beforehand, what I would have done.

Immediately, I would have made a video on both my tech channels saying, build a PC you need for the next 5 years right now and spec it out as much as you can. If you need a laptop in the next five years, buy the most expensive one now.
If you already have a PC/laptop that you expect will last the next five years, buy compatible SSD and RAM as much as you system supports and then some more in case they do go bad!
Bag money from other people to do and do it right now.
Offline, online, doesn't matter, go do it now.

Because I have had this revelation in my mind that the PC market is completely going to crash to a point that you will not be able to buy PC components even if you have the money.
Yes, you heard that correctly. Even if you had the money, you won't be able to buy it because the AI companies will book these things in advance for the next many years.

On a side-note, if you have spare money, invest in AI and RAM companies right now but take out money by March 2026 at the latest.

Can you imagine what the reaction to that video would have been. Not that I care but it would have been real funny to see most people ignoring me while the few who watch it, do follow the advice to buy now.
And I guess that's the problem with it. That still won't fix the problem for vast majority of the people. Remember, my channel only had around 4k subs around that time. Even if I did buy promotions to promote that, it would still not reach most of the people.

But the most glaring issue with that is, it's not easy to suddenly come up with money. Most kids that get a laptop after talking to me have just taken admission in a college and the rising cost of education in India is heart-breaking.

Even if you work hard and get in the top colleges, the fees of those colleges are now beyond comprehension. Remember, the main reason I prepared for JEE-Mains a second time was simply because the fees of NIT(50k per annum with hostel) was much lower than the MAIT college I was in(3 Lakhs per annum with hostel).
If I had the money, I would have stuck in MAIT where I personally would have a better future than NIT simply because of the branch-bias.

Anyways, let's get back to the topic of why I didn't see the crash and the simple answer is, it's manipulated crash. This PC market crash should never had happened in the first place.

Yes, there was a demand for everything for AI but the demand could have met without screwing the customer over. They actively stopped producing more profitable consumer RAM to make less profitable AI RAM because the RAM companies realize they are making more money by artificially limiting the manufacturing of RAMs.

And other companies followed suit.

Every company realized that from a cost perspective, Fuck Sam Walton whose strategy for Walmart was: "Large volume, lower prices" is better.

Every company now realized that just like Nintendo did with their consoles(Fuck Nintendo), artificially limiting supply makes people want to pay a lot more for the same product.

And this has nothing to do with AI. Yes, companies did favour AI but they realized they are making more profits by selling fewer units at much higher price simply because many consumers are still willing to pay that money.

Since companies realize there will always be consumers buying PCs at whatever price the market is because their education or work depends on it, they can always keep increasing prices to make these idiots make-up profit for lower sales.

Once again, this has nothing to do with AI or the demand of AI but with the fact that they know they will sell certain volume no matter what. Why bother growing and lower profits per sale when they can make more profits on selling fewer units.

The only thing they have to look over is, many people simply can't afford PCs any more and those who do can afford are buying worthless pieces of junks where they might have bought something powerful which severely limits their creativity and work areas.

When I used to recommend gaming laptops from Rs.50k to 150k(For most people that was more than enough), those laptops used to be very powerful that it would not limit anyone's creativity or trying different types of work.

Now what you get especially under 100k can't even run the OS it ships with decently, forget doing anything else. And it breaks my heart to see this happen.

Of course, the rich people were unaffected by this but everyone else were severely affected. And these dreamers are always my audience.
