Thermal Pastes, Pads and materials

Before you buy thermal paste at all, have you first clean your laptop fans and vents? Which can be done in most cases even without taking out the fan module, only the back cover is necessary. As I showed it here(to be added), that might be enough.

Thermal Pastes and Thermal Pads - For VRMs and PSUs. CPU, GPU

THERMAL PADS VS PASTE WARNING: Don't apply thermal pastes on places requiring thermal pads or thermal putty. Thermal paste is for CPU/GPU. Thermal Putty or thermal pads are for VRMs PSUs and little blocks except the CPU and the GPU which requires something thicker. Applying WILL kill your laptop like it did for me.

There aren't many thermal pastes/pads for the VRMs and more at all available in India but I bought the ones I could find and tested them and here they are:

ADWITS 9 Pack Assorted Thickness 0.5 1.0 1.5 mm Thermal Conductive Silicone Pads with 6.0 W/mk

Thermal Pastes and Exceptions Thermal Materials - CPU and GPU only.

LIQUID THERMAL PASTE WARNING: Don't do it yourself. If your laptop came with liquid thermal paste, just don't. These are electrically conductive and can short your motherboard even if a little bit of it spills. (Note: Can non-liquid thermal paste also be electrically conductive in rare cases? That's something I am working on here).

This is the paste I keep at home as a backup and whenever there isn't PTM anymore or I am applying thermal paste to an older laptop I use this instead. I have already done many benchmarks with this paste and it looks like it sustains it's performance overtime.
