Long Term Impressions
After cleaning the older thermal paste and thermal pads:
Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut
Cooler Master Mastergel
As you can see below the packet's sticker was open, however I also checked another box that I had for the same so nothing alarming here.
The application of this thermal paste is quite unique as they all come out in a plane and if you move it at an angle, it pretty much covers everything without the need of spatula and pretty even application. However, this was just a backup thermal paste as shown in Links section above.
As you can the same after application:
ADWITS Thermal Pad:
This took some reapplication since I kept using thicker thermal pads, starting with 1mm then 0.75mm then finally settled with 0.5mm. With thicker thermal paste the pastes weren't making contact. However I reapplied thermal paste so that there isn't any air trapped in.
Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut on CPU/GPU:
Cooler Master Mastergel on GPU Memory Modules NOT THE GPU and the extra Chip which either is the Intel chipset or Lenovo AI engine chip.
Verification of the thermal paste: This is a very very important thing. One of the possible conclusions on why the Arctic MX-6 performed so badly in India. I have seen so much counterfeit products in my life in this country that it wouldn't surprise me that even the thermal pastes are counterfeit and having this verification thing really makes a lot of sense.
The Kryonaut came with a code in a small paper inside the packet which when verified with the given site didn't reach the site(presumably taken down) but verifying it on another site, it did verify. Here are the pictures of the verification for you:
No Cooler just laptop properly ventilated.
20° C cold weather with 80% RH factor.
CPU and GPU overclock was enabled in BIOS.
Custom-Extreme mode for all tests.
CPU Stress Test
GPU Stress Test
As you can see above that after about 10 mins, the GPU's reason for thermal limitation changed from Power to Thermals. This has been a constant story with this laptop. No matter what I do, the hotspot temperatures cross 100 all the time and sometimes it doesn't make any sense. I talked about it in the Noctua video. Some reviews talk about this being the case no matter what is done. It's hard to say if this is actually the case or not but whatever the case is, it requires a lot more data from a lot of other people which I can't seem to get out of them. Might need to kidnap someone's family to get those data.
