Convert the Steam Version of RetroArch into the full version of RetroArch

The Steam version of RetroArch lacks a lot of features including the ability to download and run PS2 core and a lot of missing cores and no update options and ton of other features.

Video Solution: TODO

Solution:

  1. Download RetroArch Steam Version.
  2. Download Full Version RetroArch from their own website and install it at a different place than the Steam Version.
  3. Open the File Location of Steam Version by going to Steam→ Library → RetroArch → (Right Click) → Manage → Browse Local Files.
  4. Open the File Location of the complete version (From Step 2).
  5. Copy all the contents from the complete version EXCEPT retroarch.exe and uninstall.exe to the Steam Folder.
  6. Now you have a complete version of the RetroArch on Steam. Keep the full version of RetroArch if in future there comes an update to RetroArch.

Play PS2 Games on RetroArch Full Version in Steam Remote Play

Pre-requisite: Make sure you have the full version of RetroArch if playing via Steam as shown here.

Video Solution: TODO

Solution:

  1. Download, install and setup PCSX2 in RetroArch and make sure it runs properly before importing into PS2.
  2. Import the PCSX2 folder into RetroArch Steam Version.
  3. Optional: If screen goes to black but you hear sound while playing PS2 games:
    1. Open the pcxs2-qt.exe from the system folder of RetroArch.
    2. Go to Settings→ Graphics → Renderer → Change it to Vulkan → Close and retry.
    3. If that doesn't work, try the other renderer. Basically the renderer has to be the same in PCSX2 inside the system folder and the LRPS2 Core in RetroArch.

Further Improvements:

Wide-Screen Fix Option 1:

  1. Boot up the game.
  2. Press F1 on keyboard to bring up the Quick Menu.
  3. Go to Core Options → Video → WideScreen Hint → Select 16:9 or 16:10 depending on your monitor.

Wide-Screen Fix Option 2:

  1. Open RetroArch.
  2. Main Menu→ Load Core → Sony Playstation 2 (LRPS2). → Start Core. (Don't start with content. We are not booting a game but just the core itself)
  3. Find the setting for Wide-Screen (Will update this later and probably show in the video above).
  4. Boot up the individual game and find display option in it and change it to wide-screen from there also.

Upscale:

  1. Boot up the game.
  2. Press F1 on keyboard to bring up the Quick Menu.
  3. Go to Core Options → Video → Internal Resolution.
  4. Increase it to 3x or more depending on what monitor you have. And completely restart RetroArch. If it lags, reduce this one point.

Use Logitech 3D Pro Joystick natively with Ace Combat 7

Softwares/Drivers: All Files goes here which included the Logitech Profiler File which seems necessary but I still haven't found a way to use it.

The game detects the flight stick but gives no way to actually bind the controls to the controller. Earlier I manually bound with X360 application but it isn't perfect and requires a lot of setup, thankfully someone had already made a guide on steam for it. I am just improving a few steps for it as some people were still confused after the guide too.

Video Solution:

Solution:

Step 0: Play the game at least once and also plug in the USB Joystick at least once. Then close the Ace Combat 7 game.

Step 1: Win+R→ appdata ↵

Step 2: Navigate to Appdata→Local→BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment→ACE COMBAT 7→Configs

Step 3: Input.ini Open file with Notepad++ or Notepad.

Step 4: Find the New Flight Stick device section in the notepad, it will have a long serial number like this:

Note: If you don't see a Flight Stick Device, install the Logitech Profiler from above.

Step 5: Below this change all the mappings to ones below:

Flight_Gun=Button2
Flight_Missile=Button1
Flight_Weapon=Button6
Flight_Target=Button4
Flight_Radar=Button5
Flight_Flare=Button3
Flight_View=Button12
Flight_AccelerationDeceleration=
Flight_AutoPilot=Button11
Flight_Pause=Button7
Flight_HatSwitchUp=POV_U1
Flight_HatSwitchDown=POV_D1
Flight_HatSwitchLeft=POV_L1
Flight_HatSwitchRight=POV_R1
Flight_Pitch=Y:R
Flight_Roll=X
Flight_Yaw=Rz
Flight_Throttle=Slider1
Flight_CameraPitch=POV_U1:R
Flight_CameraPitch=POV_D1
Flight_CameraYaw=POV_L1:R
Flight_CameraYaw=POV_R1
UI_B=Button1
UI_A=Button2
UI_X=Button3
UI_Y=Button4
UI_LB=
UI_RB=
UI_LT=
UI_RT=
UI_LeftStickPress=
UI_RightStickPress=
UI_DPadUp=
UI_DPadDown=
UI_DPadLeft=
UI_DPadRight=
UI_LeftStickUp=POV_U1
UI_LeftStickDown=POV_D1
UI_LeftStickLeft=POV_L1
UI_LeftStickRight=POV_R1
UI_RightStickUp=
UI_RightStickDown=
UI_RightStickLeft=
UI_RightStickRight=
UI_Menu=Button9

Save and exit.

Now you will see you are able to use your joystick normally. This is the preferred method over the X360 one which I showed in the video above as this isn't mapping the controlls to something else for it.

Don Bradman 2014 keeps crashing on PC - Unfixed

Random crashes at anytime. From the few sessions we had the game was crashing a lot more on the 14700HX with the stupid P-E Core combination than it was on the Ryzen 7 - 7000 series CPU (Will add name here later), which makes me to believe that it was the same issue like it was with that zombies game.

Here's what I tried:

  1. Setting affinity of the CPU to only 4 as recommended by many which made no difference at all.
