Acer harami hain. Acer has done some truly despicable things towards its customers and still keeps doing it.
Some of the things that Acer has done in the past which you will find on many online reviews, or forums and which
people keep telling me when they talk to me about buying a new laptops include:
1) Acer doesn't provide its own ADP for most of it's laptop and from most places. And ADP is
important in India as I have said multiple times. That
is the main driving point of the recommendation actually. Acer used to give ADP but they stopped it for some reason. That
reason which they never said but it was right around the time when many Predator/Helios Intel 10th gen (Many years
ago) just dying under 3 years of usage. Sometimes even under warranty.
2) At that time, since many people got their laptops during a sale season, they got it for a lot cheaper than the
MRP. How is that relevant? Well when the time came for a motherboard replacement, they denied
it on the basis that the cost of the motherboard is higher than the cost of the laptop. (I am
looking for a solid proof for it and when I do, it will be attached below).
3) Many gaming laptops even, their keyboards just come out in under one year of usage and
that keyboard replacement isn't covered under warranty.
4) Build quality of even their premium laptops like Predator are just terrible. Laptop
starts to fall apart pretty quickly. They know this and that's why they go to great lengths to not give you
ADP with them at all.
5) A lot of the things which you will expect to be under warranty are simply not under warranty. I will add these
things later but it includes stuff like keyboard just popping off even without the customer doing anything for
it.
6) THIS IS A BIG ONE. BRACE YOURSELVES. In a rare case that the laptop repair cost is too much (like motherboard
dead), the company will give you a replacement laptop but will charge you money based on the time you have used
the product. And these percentages aren't based on the invoice amount, it's based on whatever company
thinks the value will be. You will have to pay, upto 58% of the amount of the replacement laptop if Acer
determines that the laptop isn't fixable for under a year. You think I am joking don't you, visit their

7) ADP is only for the first year and actually you need ADP for as long as possible. Most people who have to
unwillingly accept ADP because the company won't take the blame for their manufacturing defect, will do it in
the second or the third year NOT THE FIRST YEAR. While some brands like Acer, Lenovo and in a few cases now HP
too, are giving ADP for a full three years. (HP be a bit careful because they keep removing this offer).
8) Acer India does not warrant error free or uninterrupted operation of the Desktop or notebook.
9) Support Support is very slow.
Few Extra Notes about Acer:
A lof the problems I bring up here could have been solved if they just provided ADP of three years with all their products just like Asus, Lenovo or even HP now. It's understandable that you don't want a country to grow by not training your staff or hiring better labour force, but it's not understandable why not use some of that saved money in at least insuring laptops. Most people don't even know about such things as ADP or extended warranty even when buying offline from Acer stores as if they are told not to sell it.
Closing remarks:Once you understand what I am trying to tell you through these writings, you will start to wonder why shouldn't I consider all brands then if this is going to be the thing, and that is correct. If you're ready to buy an Acer knowing it's flaws, you should consider all brands and even brands which don't have in-home support like MSI or Gigabyte or Colorful too. I am not saying they are great or you don't need in-home warranty but all I am saying is, you might as well consider them.
a) After sale support is very slow for small little things even so take to Twitter and Consumer court every time.
b) Unless you have ADP, they will ask for payments for any sort of motherboard damages or keyboard replacement and
many more things which should come under warranty technically. You can and should use Consumer Court which is completely online to fight in
such cases but know they are like that.
d) Warranty is void if you remove the "Warranty Void" sticker or try to install your SSD or RAM on it.
Easy to circumvent: Just take your personal stuff out when contacting them. And just tell you have overheating
issue which you will have in a few weeks and the service engineer can break the seal for you.
No. But there's something that might work but I should warn you, it's risky and I can't help if anything goes wrong:
If you're reading this after you got your laptop from anywhere and the laptop is still new then you can still try to get the ADP like a brother did here . It can be risky though as Acer directly says they don't allow such things. It happened once with the brother in the video but ever since no one was able to recreate that. So it can be risky.
Ask more questions here but not specific stuff like which laptop is better and what not, but more general stuff concerining Acer brands as a laptop.
Keep all your questions on the video itself. I won't encourage questions on DM as the questions asked on the
comment will be helpful to everyone and also the question very likely would be something that is already covered
in this blog post or video in which case I won't bother replying.

Step 1: Where is Acer's Own ADP/Extended Warranty Applicable and for how long?
a) Where?
Check Acer's ADP(Accidental Damage Protection)[1] and where are they applicable by visiting: https://shopacer.co.in/[2] or https://store.acer.com/en-in/offer-terms-conditions-in
and finding the T&C Page (Usually under Offers→View Offers→PDF Document→Second Last Page) and
find this line:
Offer applicable only on the Products/part nos. as per the program List(PurchasedBetween xxx– xxx )from Acer Retail Channel or from Acer E Store portal).
As you can see at the time of writing it only is applicable to Acer online e-store and Acer Offline Store
b) When does the warranty/ADP start?
Find the line which tells when does the Extended warranty start (Usually it does at the end of the Acer's One
year warranty with all laptops):
The extended warranty shall commence from date of expiry of the one-year Acer India LIMITED WARRANTY applicable for the Product.
Step 2: What ADP/Extended warranty is applicable for the laptop model you're interested in if you want
Acer's own extended warranty/ADP?
Extended Warranty and ADP are very very different at least when it comes to India because brands here tend to
blame customer for everything even things which a customer can't cause by themselves[1].
For example, at the time of writing, the Acer Nitro 5, Nitro 16, ALG, Aspire 7, Aspire Lite and Predator all come with just two year extended warranty and no ADP. (That means 1+2=3 duh!)
Don't gloss over ADP. ADP is important as I keep saying[1] again and again.
Note: Don't get excited about the other offers and goodies. You are here to buy a laptop, focus on the laptop.
Step 3: Incorporate the cost of the extra ADP/warranty into the cost of the laptop and see if the purchase makes sense by comparing to other brand offerings.

Step 4: Buy the laptop and get the extra warranty immediately. There are only a few days when you can get the extra warranty from Acer directly.

Safe to say you will find that these prices above aren't that great and if you still want to buy Acer, the only other way is to get the third party warranties which I don't recommend but it can be better than nothing. Remember these warranty claims are very very tough to claim and people have to run through hoops to get it(Or that's what the impression I get from going through people's experiences online).
This is yet to be confirmed: For some cases, I have seen the OneAssist Warranty on Flipkart, Amazon or even non-Acer offline store convert into actual Acer's own warranty(Easy Care Sheet) but I have no proof of it and Acer plainly denies providing any warranty if you don't buy it from them.
