On the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qM9h9N5756A about relative humdity someone commented about his thin laptop dying to which I replied in a post: https://www.youtube.com/post/Ugkx1-eVOKMc-kj_j0ozj20Qypl1aqSr0Thm:
It's very humid where I live too (Purnea, Bihar, India), lot of rainy season, similar to your conditions and what helps is a lot of air cooling. AC/Dehumidifier : An Air conditioned room is the best bet but most people can't afford that here. I was looking in dehumidifier but they aren't as good for cheap and you will end up buying air conditioning anyways. These are still in progress and with further research I will make an updated video on these. In the meantime however, your answer is: either, a PC, or a gaming laptop. PC: I got a PC for my birthday and it remains very cool even during the worst situation. It's so much easier to clean if there is a lot of dust so if portability can be let go off, PC should be the way to go. Gaming Laptop with cooler: I am going to assume most people can't have that so I guess the other answer is, gaming laptop with big beefy coolings. They will be pain to move around but those are the only way to keep air flowing fast enough for the same. Also, pair them with a laptop cooler which pumps up lot of air something like this: https://amzn.to/4e88DSj will also help or so I assume. What does help is air flow with foam boundaries on a cooling pad to keep the air-intact with pressure difference with something like this: https://www.amazon.com/IETS-Powerful-Turbo-Fan-Infinitely-13-17-3inch/dp/B09D6J56NS/ref=sr_1_6?crid=2QQOKE0APJK8F&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.U5XNa0ydYspzawRMQdOQSIxoHEzAivoTQ0B0S12M4UVCZLWr2Q-QqqfY5FkdFD-rebEoOH5aw6j7TftTGqQheomnSR9dr0ypCoQfK7AjreNgkogrYzGarxercU6DldXB2KZCCkJp5Z-q7STEGqKkxQjHf2CViUptmg3KFETOENmUqL0tzU7gdH-jaHPSp5ZG_sZaCFA3IXU5_cQ1qPnJaJu8kMUk8M1aINAwYtrq4Og.pzKoUrS5v7IhDWdlcNp0t4loEVtrC-FURppScffqBsE&dib_tag=se&keywords=cooling%2Bpad%2Bhigh%2Bair%2Bflow&qid=1730180131&sprefix=cooling%2Bpad%2Bhigh%2Bair%2Bfl%2Caps%2C371&sr=8-6&th=1 Note: I have to do more tests to confirm the same but right away getting a cooling pad especially those with a foam (check fitting first, not for all sizes) will help provided the laptop intake fans are below the laptop. The problem with thin and light machine is there aren't enough holes to push the air through though. In your current X1, I am not sure how these will help because looking at the air vents on the X1, they are too small. Maybe these help, maybe they don't, I can't really say until I have tested them on my own. Reply to: @Leftism11 " Thank you for this. I'm seeing this issue with laptops dying in Central America, where it is 27 - 32 C and 80% - 100% humidity, especially during rainy season. Consumer laptops die quickly, but we've also had two Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 9 motherboards die in under 1 month. I suspect it's due to the humidity + temperature, so I'm trying to figure out how to deal with the problem." on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qM9h9N5756A |
So I guess it was time for me to write about the same. The problem with when I just want to make a video is that it needs to be 100% complete before I can make a video on it. I wasn’t getting time enough to test the cooling pad I got and some other things I had thought for the same. But since this is now a blog, I can easily do that now since I can add multiple ongoing videos to the same and also other details as required instead of making sure it’s 100% correct. So here it goes.
