Summary:

Budget friendly laptops and also provides ADP and replacement when things go bad. Compared to other brands they do look good BUT the downtimes if things go wrong while multiple motherboard replacement is a huge deal and if that's your only machine it is going to be a pathetic experience.

General: All Laptops/Sub-brands:

Pros General:

  1. Decent specs for the price. Sometimes the cheapest with cashbacks and rebates.
  2. Lenovo, Dell & HP are the brands which third party repair shops recommend due to availability of parts.

Neutral General: 

  1. Parts can be replaced with refurbished. (Every brand has this line written in their Terms and Service: Replacement parts may be refurbished but it will be working. If they can't provide a working replacement, they have to legally provide refund.)

Cons General:

  1. Multiple Replacement Motherboards are non-working so you might end up weeks with a dead machine:
    1. Every brand has this line in their Terms and Service that they will provide working replacement parts under warranty or ADP Lenovo they have a habit of giving replacement motherboards even if you have replaced it multiple times. This is not an uncommon thing and has happened with many people including me.
    2. This is a huge deal as for weeks or months you will have a non-working machine due to this and God forbid you don't have an extra SSD for data then it also means you have to format your windows multiple times without any reason to. And even when they do provide a refund, it's provided after multiple motherboard replacements and months of time wasted.
  3. Customer support asks to clean install Windows every time with every drivers before providing a proper response which takes hours. This is again a huge deal considering that if something does go wrong, even if the support exists, they will waste your time going to do these things even if they do it via remote, it's still time wasted.
  4. Customer support are fucking stupid assholes who will give absolutely fucking dumb ridiculous responses in trying to make the customer leave such as:
    1. Don't play games on a gaming laptop.
    2. This laptop runs fine in normal use. Even if it doesn't reach it's full potential while gaming, it looks fine to me.
    3. We don't care what temperatures and wattage is shown in third party tools. We don't care. We will only use the Legion Diagnostic Evolution tool which doesn't show the CPU Package temps but only Core temps(Package temps especially for hot CPUs like Intel HX 12th, 13th and 14th gen can go quite high often crossing the Tj.max which is 100°C).

Budget Gaming Series: LOQ, IdeaPad Gaming

Pros apart from the general ones:

  1. Full Refund if bought from Lenovo.com but with a lot of trouble.
  2. Excellent value for money if combined with discounts/cashbacks.

Neutral apart from the general ones:

Cons apart from the general ones:

  1. Service and Customer Support is poor although existent
    1. How to Overcome: Start with calls, emails are good for keeping notes.
  2. 3%+ chance of dead laptop in LOQ 2024 no matter where it is from and it's difficult to get refund, although you can.

  3. Thermals aren't good out of the box although better than other budget laptops.

Legion Pro 5

Pros apart from the general ones:

  1. Excellent performance with the same config.
  2. Compared to other premium laptops, these are cheaper.
  3. Excellent thermal performance.​​​​

  1. Very very heavy

  1. Refund in case of dead laptops or high backlight bleed.

  1. Service and Customer support is better than budget series at least.
