General Considerations

Consoles with their own display like hanhelds leaves the TV/monitor free for other uses

I have experienced this first hand when as a poor we used our monitor as a TV and I being a stubborn kid didn't let go off the monitor so my Mom could watch movies with the Hostel kids and she ended up crying because .... . That memory is too sharp in my head that I ask people coming to look for a console or even making a PC that do you already have a secondoary TV or monitor at home and if you don't have it, give your house a cheap TV if you only have one display at home. They are not that expensive.

So, I guess what I want to say is if you are going to buy a console that doens't have it's own display, get another display and don't just hook it to your TV especially if other people in the house use the old TV for anything at all.
Otherwise you can just buy a handheld console from below and also a projector with a normal console(Yes, I have to explore this in more details later).

Nintendo Consoles:

To determine if you should get a PC or a console, answer these questions:

Do you already have a PC for your creative work?
Yes: If you already have a decent enough PC that's good enough for creating something you care about or learning some skill, go ahead and buy a console.
No: If not move to the next question.

Are you already a working professional and are already making money and don't care about advancing your career with a PC or creating something with a PC?
Yes: If you are already working and you are sure you don't care about creating something of your own with a PC like your own business or advancing a skill in IT, go ahead and buy a console.
No: Move to the next question.

You are either from Q.2 above or a student/recent passout and have not started making your own money and have not found your way in life.

You are who I was looking for.

This is especially important if you're a student/kid who has not yet joined the working professional world yet.
It is very very So you are someone who might benefit by getting a PC even if you don't want to
where you might learn to create something, advance a skill or even fields that are generally not associated with a PC for example,
making small automation devices for your home or agriculture, or using in stock market and making data modesl to predict the next stock to buy or
a whole bunch of stuff that you might not even think about right now, don't buy a console but get a PC.
PC is a creation machine along with being a consumption machine, consoles are only consumption machine.
You will not create anything with a console.

Handheld Consoles

Important Notes:

Reputed Brands although expensive are better

After getting the chinese clones of the retro consoles I finally have started to see the value in getting consoles directly from the manufacturer such as Anerbnic or Powkiddy.
It might be a bit extra than getting a chinese clone of the same form factor or spec but it's so much more better to get these directly.
The Chinese Consoles are fragile, not well built and start to show sign of bad parts in a few months itself, that is if you even get a working unit or a unit at all.

Pocketable size is better for using devices on the go.

I have a small R36S(smaller than a normal phone now), an R36Pro(a phone size but very thick) and R46S(almost a phone size but wider and bit thicker).
And I have them in the drawer which I open before I leave for any place and I only pickup the R36S due to it's smaller size and that is pretty important to understand.
People think getting a bigger 9" Legion Go or Steam Deck or something huge will help them play a lot of games if they are using these on the go but it's simply not comfortable enough to do so in terms of moving around.
On my bus jorneys and train journeys I tend to pickup something usually smaller than a phone(open or even closed if it's a flip) and that matters.
If you're new to this, stick to smaller devices first because you will actually use them more instead of a larger device that's at home.
