Back in
2018 I wrote a few reddit post about fasting back when I was doing it. I have
posted the whole blog post here so that you don't have to visit reddit:
Before
I started with intermittent fasting, I had this constant urge to buy food
wherever I see it even if I was full or if the quality if the food wasn't great
at all.
After
starting with intermittent fasting things are the same but because I have made
a token system to give myself for every 16hours or more of fast (I learnt it
from ADHD management), I don't buy the food, but I still feel that the urge to
buy the food. Most of the time it's because I haven't drunk water for a while.
On
top of that, here are a few things that it helps with:
'
Constipation.
Earlier I was going to the washroom for 4-5 times a day and it was usual. It
was hard for me to control it always. Now I usually go two times and three at
most on days when I had a lot of masala or oily foods (which I am now trying to
avoid).
'
Eating
too much at a time. Since you can only eat so much at a time, I have started
consuming less food in the eight hours that I have. I still eat like crazy not
chewing properly and I am trying to work on it it but it gets too crazy when I have been hungry for
a while.
'
Peace
of mind. Since I don't have to think about food anymore for a few hours, I am
free to do other things. I even start the Vora App while the eating period so that
I don't start eating like crazy again.
Final
thoughts: I know what I have been, how I have been eating, and now catch myself
doing that I learnt to easy myself because the body likes harmony and not
punishment.
I
just did 36 hours fast. I lost a pound. But the amazing thing happened just
after the 24 hours cycle. My tummy was no longer bulging out. I was feeling
active and lightweight. I was so happy. I hadn't felt that in years.
Just
the active part will make me want to do more fasting.
Update:
After a few days, I lost two more pounds without restricting any diet although
I was aiming for 16:8.
Thinking
about it now, I might have not been able to continue my fasting completely, but
I have been consistent with 16:8 intermittent fasting there was a time back a
few months ago where I thought that maybe I wasn't losing weight with
Intermittent fasting and that I should try eating breakfast like a normal human
being. I will kid you not, in a week I gained 3 kgs (6 pounds) immediately
apart from feeling weird all morning.
So yeah,
currently I don't eat anything until 1 p.m. in the morning and usually have my
dinner by 9p.m. so that's 16 hours fast and 8 hours of eating in which I
usually only eat like twice but rarely thrice.
Even if
it's helping me lose weight at least it's keeping the weight consistent and not
increasing it.
