Brands/Models and my experiences

SD Cards might ask for reformatting when they really don't need it
  • If your SD Card suddenly says RAW on PC and PC and Phone both ask to format it, just running checkdisk on windows is enough to fix it.
I tried and tested this on 512GB Sandisk SD Card and no data was lost.
This happens because of multiple reads/writes on the SD card at once which it can't handle. Hence "just replacing lack of internal storage with external SD Card" isn't enough.
  • At higher capacities you should really start considering an NVME SSD and a USB HUB is possible.

    Recommended SD Cards
